THE CULTURAL RESILIENCE AND PROSOCIALITY RESEARCH CENTER
The Cultural Resilience and Prosociality (CURE-PR) Research Center at Ozyegin University, founded by Dr. Kumru, is a multidisciplinary research and training center committed to advancing positive social-emotional development and resilience. Its goal is to conduct rigorous research, engage in community outreach, and deliver training programs supporting children, youth, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
At the CURE-PR Research Center, we emphasize culturally grounded approaches in both research and outreach initiatives. By offering resources and knowledge in various cultural contexts, we enhance community outreach efforts that highlight the strengths of diverse populations. We also actively cultivate partnerships with national and international universities to promote collaborative research.
MISSION STATEMENT AND VISION
The Cultural Resilience and Prosociality Research Center (CURE-PR) is dedicated to advancing the understanding of how cultural practices, values, and systems foster prosociality, cooperation, well-being, and adaptability at individual and community levels. Through interdisciplinary research, innovative collaboration, and community engagement, we aim to:
– Uncover the underlying mechanisms that promote prosocial behavior and resilience across diverse cultures.
– Develop actionable insights to support communities in building sustainable, inclusive, and thriving environments.
– Empower global networks to apply evidence-based strategies that enhance social cohesion, inclusivity, and collective resilience in the face of evolving societal challenges.
As a pioneering research hub, CURE-PR strives to illuminate the profound role of culture in shaping a more connected, compassionate, inclusive, and resilient world.
