Honorable Mention in National Architectural Competition
The project co-designed by ADR LAB members İlker Fatih Özorhon and Güliz Özorhon received the Second Honorable Mention in the "Balıkesir Cumhuriyet Square Social Center" Architectural Design Competition, a national competition organized by Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality. The project envisions a new gathering and representational space for Balıkesir, featuring functions that support the city's cultural life, expansive event areas, a permeable urban configuration, and a canopy that transforms memory into space.

Paper Presented at the 29th International Building and Life Fair and Congress
The paper titled "Spatial Codes of Co-existence: From Traditional Multigenerational Environments to New Sustainability Perspectives," co-authored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güliz Özorhon and her doctoral student Eda Nur Kış, was presented at the 29th International Building and Life Fair and Congress, organized by the Chamber of Architects of Turkey, Bursa Branch (TMMOB Mimarlar Odası Bursa Şubesi).
ADR LAB Receive Grant Support Under TÜBİTAK-ARDEB 1001 Program for 2025/1 Term
We are pleased to announce that our research project titled “Anaokulları İçin Açık Hava Sınıfı (AHS) Tasarım Modeli Geliştirilmesi ve Türkiye’ye Özgü Stratejilerin Belirlenmesi” has been awarded competitive grant support under the TÜBİTAK-ARDEB 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program (2025/1 term).
MİTA 2024 Symposium Hosted by Özyeğin University
The 4th National Symposium on Architectural Design Research (MİTA 2024), themed “The Future of Architectural Design Education”, was held at Özyeğin University between April 25–27 with the active involvement of ADR LAB. The symposium brought together scholars, educators, and students to discuss emerging directions in architectural pedagogy.
First Prize in International Architectural Design Competition
ADR LAB members Dr. İlker Fatih Özorhon, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güliz Özorhon, Gülbin Lekesiz, in collaboration with Architect Kerem Meral were awarded First Prize in the international competition for the Conceptual Design of the Emergency Centre at the Clinical Centre of Montenegro. The competition jury praised the clarity and spatial coherence of the proposed design.
Third Prize in National Urban Design Ideas Competition
ADR LAB member Dr. İlker Fatih Özorhon, as part of a multidisciplinary team, was awarded Third Prize in the "Trabzon Ortahisar Sanayi Neighborhood Urban Design Ideas Competition." The project proposes a qualified urban fabric developed around a newly introduced flood park, integrating ecological resilience with a coherent public realm at the neighborhood scale.
ADR LAB Presents at "Reimagine: AI in Architecture and Design" Symposium
A recent publication co-authored by ADR LAB members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güliz Özorhon and Gülbin Lekesiz was presented at the "AI in Architecture and Design Series I – Reimagine" symposium, hosted by Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design on April 15, 2026. Within the scope of Session 1: Education, the paper titled "AI-assisted Architectural Design Studio (AI-a-ADS): How Artificial Intelligence Joins the Architectural Design Studio?" — co-authored with Dilara Nitelik Gelirli and Can Müezzinoğlu, and published in the International Journal of Technology and Design Education (2025) — was presented by Dilara Nitelik Gelirli.
Honorable Mention in National Architectural Competition
A project developed by ADR LAB members Dr. İlker Fatih Özorhon and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güliz Özorhon, in collaboration with Architect Kerem Meral, received an Equivalent Honorable Mention in the Bodrum Health Foundation’s Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy Center National Architectural Project Competition.
Faculty 10th Year Book Publication
The 10th Anniversary Book of Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design has been published, celebrating a decade of academic, pedagogical, and creative endeavors. ADR LAB member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güliz Özorhon contributed as co-editor, together with Elif Aktaş Yanaş, Gizem Efendioğlu, Gülbin Lekesiz, Tuğba Tok, and Yasemin Yıldırım.
